Get out of Chicago. Get into the river.
Not every ChiCityEvents trip stayed in the city. For the 8th Annual White Water Rafting weekend, we packed up and headed to the Lower New River — some of the most celebrated whitewater in the Eastern United States.
The centerpiece was 6 to 7 hours on the river, covering 10 to 15 miles of Class IV rapids with a professional guide crew. Breakfast before, lunch on the river, dinner back at camp — all included. Nobody went hungry and nobody stayed dry.
The campground had everything: showers, restrooms, electricity, and an on-site bar for the evenings. For those who wanted more, zipline, ATV, and stand-up paddleboarding were available upon request.
It was the trip everyone talked about for months after. Which is why we kept doing it for eight years.
